Cass Traill (she/her)

RRM
Registered Roster Mediator – Ambitus

Cassondra (Cass) Traill is a Registered Roster Mediator (RRM) with Mediate BC and a member of the BC Hear the Child Roster, bringing specialized training in child interviewing to her practice. Cass joined the Ambitus team in November 2020 and has developed a comprehensive approach to mediation-arbitration that integrates her legal background, practical experience, and deep empathy for families navigating complex circumstances.

Cass began her professional journey in the legal field, holding a Paralegal Diploma and a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies, with focused studies in human rights, alternate dispute resolution, and forensic psychology Her time as a paralegal, combined with her mediation training, gives her a unique lens for understanding family dynamics, navigating challenging histories, and supporting parties toward agreements that are realistic, sustainable, and child-centered.

Over the past several years, Cass has honed her practice through hands-on experience with high-conflict family situations, parenting arrangements, and child-focused matters. She believes that effective resolutions start with truly understanding the needs of the children involved, while also acknowledging the complex legal, emotional, and relational factors that families bring to the table. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based methods, practical problem-solving, and fostering open communication, ensuring that clients feel supported, heard, and empowered throughout the process.

Committed to continuous growth, Cass engages in ongoing training and professional development, collaborating with experienced mediators and practitioners to refine her skills and expand her tools for working with families in complex and sensitive contexts. She facilitates both virtual and in-person sessions across British Columbia and maintains an office in Victoria, B.C., combining accessibility with a supportive, client-focused environment.

Morgan Ambrose (she/her)

RRM, FMC Cert, MA Conflict Analysis and Management

Morgan has been working in therapeutic settings for the past 15 years. Her initial entry point into the field of 'hard emotions' was as a certified ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) outdoor educator and guide, leading extended wilderness trips for folks in relationships of inter-partner violence; CAF veterans diagnosed with PTSD; and youth living with complex mental health considerations. She spent several years as youth and family support worker at a residential addiction treatment centre before moving into Curriculum Development Lead and Outcomes and Evaluation Lead in the world of relapse-prevention. Throughout her work Morgan has become increasingly aware of the impacts of lateral violence; coercion and control dynamics; and child development and attachment theories - all which remain crucial to her practice currently. In 2017, Morgan completed the Right Use of Power practitioner certification with Cedar Barstow. This model has become a cornerstone of her practice; Morgan is committed to (lifelong) on-going reflection and feedback to ensure that her interactions with clients are ethically grounded and accessible to equity seeking individuals who face subtle or overt systemic discrimination.

Morgan holds a MA in Conflict Analysis and Management and is an accredited mediator on the Family and Civil rosters with Mediate BC and Family Mediate Canada. She has worked as a family mediator with BC's Family Resolution Program and with NWT's Family Law Mediation Program. Alongside her mediation practices as an associate with Ambitus, Morgan currently works as a Restorative Engagement Practitioner with the Department of National Defence where she facilities conversations aimed towards systemic culture change and reparation of harm with people who have experienced sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces. Morgan has been volunteering with Restorative Justice Victoria since 2021, facilitating reparative conversations between affected and responsible parties of crime and sexual violence.
